AI Is Using Less Reddit. Here’s Why Your Business Website Just Became More Important.
Ai is changing where it gets its information … and your business website may matter more than it has in years. In June I wrote a blog post about how Ai is favoring Reddit to determine if a business is ‘worth referring’ in searches … and let’s just say, my blog post didn’t post a positive view on that strategy … you can read more on how I felt about Reddit being used … but there is good news for those of us who know what Reddit really is … it was announced that:
CHATGPT SEARCH IS CITING REDDIT MUCH LESS THAN IT WAS BEFORE
And what are they now citing MORE??? YOUR WEBSITE. The business WEBSITES out there on the internet … so when a potential client searches or asks ChatGPT “as a small business owner, what companies should I look at to design my website” … I am wanting them to recommend The Editor’s Touch … and to do that, I need my website to be on fire with all that delicious search wording and blog posts that Ai will now be grooming the internet to find.
Ai will be using the actual business website, reputable publications and accolades, official sources, expert content, possibly even Instagram posts and reels! Reddit can still be useful for opinions and real-world experiences, but it isn't automatically treated as “the truth.” Thank gawd, right??

SKIP THE FLUFFY SH*T … no longer is this enough: “Look at this beautiful pink wedding we planned …” … with the latest news dropping we are looking for an IN DEPTH DIVE into something that makes YOU the EXPERT at what you do … yes, we’re talking writing … and before you decide to just have ChatGPT write you a ton of blog posts and throw them on your website … that won’t fly either …. unless you have RECEIPTS … making a statement and then backing it up with: At Lisa and Tim’s wedding we used this same strategy and it worked beautifully … below are some photos showing just that: … and BOOM(!!!) you just became an expert to the robots.
SEO IS HERE … BUT NOW IT’S DIFFERENT …
The old SEO thinking was: how do I make my business rank high on Google … the NEW way of looking at SEO is: How do I make my business easy for Google AND Ai to understand, trust and recommend? THIS IS A HUGE DISTINCTION.
Businesses don't just need pretty websites - the website needs a BRAIN too
The website needs to clearly establish who they are, what they do, where they do it, and why they're an authority
The website needs to be the business's official source of truth on the internet
