LOOKING BACK ON 2020

As I sit down to write a post about the year 2020, snow is starting to fall in Meridian, Idaho … it’s calming, it’s beautiful, it’s everything I sat thinking 2020 would be when this same day came around last year … 2020 wasn’t what I thought it would be … it isn’t what anyone thought it would be and I wish I could say that tonight, at the stroke of midnight, we can all wash 2020 away and start tomorrow fresh, with hope and a new start … I can’t say that.

What I will say is, this was quite a year and when I look back, I can see some success stories … I can see changes that made my life and my family’s life better, and I can see choices that I made that adjusted my business to work with the new lockdowns, closures, and mandates that none of us ever dreamed we would face.

The biggest change for me and my family this year was moving … in July, we packed up a house we had lived in for 5 years and moved to Idaho … we made that decision last minute, as we were never planning to move from Seattle, a city we loved and had lived in our entire lives, we rented a townhouse and then 2 months after moving, we purchased our FIRST home as a family … I love living here and I know that we wouldn’t be living here had 2020 not happened the way it did … and so for that, I am grateful …

In 2020 I launched 33 websites for small business owners who were looking to level up their game and create success for their business this year … below are the 33 websites I launched:

I knew I had to adapt this year as well and grow beyond what I was used to doing … I didn’t know and still don’t know what this time in our lives will bring financially and ‘business wise’ … and so I started a side venture … a collection of websites that brides and grooms can send their guests to for information regarding their wedding weekend … I have designed 10 templates so far and my goal is to have at least 16 by mid February … I designed a website for this new venture as well and I’m hoping it will be a success in 2021.

Another thing that happened for me in 2020 was rebranding The Editor’s Touch and redesigning my business website … something I feel I never have time to focus on … but I made it happen and am loving the new vibe …

Was 2020 great? No, I can honestly say it wasn’t … I’ve lost a lot of hope for our country and I’m scared for what the near future may bring … but, when I look back, I can find success stories and I can smile … I can hug my family in a home we own, in a new (and what feels better and safer) state and city, and tonight at midnight, I will cheers just like we do every year and wish for a better tomorrow.

Happy New Year, xoxoxo Heather
