PIXELATED IMAGES WILL BE THE DEATH OF YOUR WEBSITE
If you have a website that has fuzzy, pixelated photos then I highly suggest you fix this immediately. A website filled with pixelated images is one of the worst things you can have … these days, more than ever before, people are VISUAL shoppers … they ‘see’ instead of read … and since your website is one of your biggest selling tools, having a fuzzy representation of your work in front of potential clients is a business killer.
You can see below the same image side by side … the one of the left is clear, the one on the right has been stretched to be pixelated.
Now, this is only a slight shift … I see much MUCH worse pixelation on some of the websites I am hired to redesign and fix … there are steps I take to make CERTAIN that none of the websites I launch have images that are pixelated …
When you work with your website designer, if you see them upload an image that is blurry, SAY SOMETHING! Ask them why and then ask them to fix it before you sign off on the project … if they say they ‘can’t fix it’ they aren’t being honest or they don’t know what they’re doing …
