IF SOMEONE HAD FOOD ON THEIR FACE, WOULD YOU TELL THEM!!??
In life, as I go through it the best I know how, if I see something ‘off’ or incorrect or ‘broken’ in the ‘world’ of someone else … I will tell them.
HEY, I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW YOU HAVE FOOD ON YOUR FACE …
… because if I had food on my face … I’d want to know!!! The other day, I posted to Instagram and had a grammatical error … usually I will double - triple check something before I post, but I was in a mad rush and didn’t … a little later that day I got a message via IG from someone letting me know in a super sweet way about my grammar mistake …. I was SO HAPPY that they did! There was nothing in it for this person to let me know … but they did and they had ZERO to gain from it! And it made me think …
THERE NEEDS TO BE MORE OF THIS OUT THERE
I feel like there are two types of women boss babe badasses out there … those who want people around them to be lifted up … and those who don't really care about the other women around them. Heather, are both those types really badass boss babes!!?? I think so! Just because someone doesn’t strive to ‘lift others up’ while they also succeed in business doesn’t mean they do it knowingly or on purpose … it’s just a different way of looking at ‘running a business’ …. Now, I will say that some people do it ON PURPOSE … and those people … well, to keep this ‘calm’, I’ll just say I feel sorry for those people … I have had clients tell me:
“IT’S NOT MY JOB TO HELP YOUR BUSINESS GROW OR TO PROMOTE YOU TO PEOPLE”
… after I realize they removed my design credit or didn’t credit me at all when they share their website on Instagram … and in these cases, I just wonder: what the f*ck is wrong with them … but to each their own, I suppose ???
I believe that what you put out there in the world comes back around to you … yep, I’m one of those weirdos hahaha … if I’m lifting other women and men up and going out of my way to give them a heads up about something they might not be aware of … for instance, if a link on their website is dead or if (like in the example above) there is a very obvious grammar mistake in something they shared … or if their Instagram icon is dead on their website … and we let people know instead of just moving on with our life … then:
ISN’T THAT AN AMAZING ENERGY TO PASS AROUND!?
Maybe I’m just feeling sentimental and gooey because it’s Mother’s Day … but I know how HARD it is to run a business on my own … I know how hard it is for YOU to run a business on your own!! The more we can cycle helpful and uplifting energy …. the better, right!? The next time you see something and your instinct is to keep on moving … maybe sending a little helpful message to that person or business will make a HUGE difference in that other business owners life! You never know …
